Job Description:

Prepares accurate detail drawings from specifications provided, utilizing a computer-aided design (CAD) system. Provides proper dimensioning of detail parts and assemblies necessary for purchasing and/or fabrication. The employee performs work under close supervision by a senior co-worker or supervisor.

Main Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Receives design specifications, layouts and concepts.

  • Prepares detail, assembly and diagram drawings, including engineering sketches, utilizing a CAD system.

  • Learns the clients standards and best practices to define the essential dimensions and characteristics of detail drawings for fabrication of parts.

  • Determines what is included on a machine design drawing by researching information and working with plant and project engineers.

  • Locates and updates drawings stored in Engineering archives and files.

  • Completes documentation for estimates, bid packages and purchase requisitions as directed.

  • Documents bills of materials and archives design files and documentation.

  • Follows fabrication and assembly of equipment to answer questions and keep senior technical individual informed of project status.

  • Monitors parts being fabricated

  • Sets up job paperwork and necessary information for production personnel.

  • Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Twelve months or more trade or technical school, Associate's degree or completion of equivalent job skills training is normally required to apply knowledge of basic drafting skills, CAD skills and methods taught in a craft or vocational-technical area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The employee primarily uses vocational skills, skills learned through specialized training, including the use of specialized tools, equipment (such as CAD systems), methods and standards normal to the occupation.

  • Also required are communication, mechanical, mathematical, and problem solving skills.



Additional Information:

$16-18/hour (no flexibility outside of rate)

Core Hours: 7:00 am -3:30 pm

12 month contract

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
