Sr. Industry Consultant

The Life Sciences Industry Consultant is across divisional, position responsible for developing, executing, andsupporting Life Sciences industry strategies to drive penetration of EmersonSolutions and technologies including application-specific programs in the LifeScience industry segment, resulting in profitable growth for Emerson ProcessManagement. Preferred locations are Austin, TX; Royersford, PA; or Irvine, CA;however, due to the high level of travel required, location is negotiabledepending on applicant's knowledge and expertise, proximity to airport, andease of access to any local Emerson office.
This individual must be able to analyze client's needs, businessobjectives, and pains; define the solution; and present a value message thatour clients can understand. This individual is responsible for leading theefforts for identifying, sizing, integrating, pricing / costing, justifying,presenting and defending total project approach and scope.
Duties include leading high-level customer discussions in support ofassessments, benefits analysis/justification, front end engineering design (FEED)studies, solution architecture and visioning, project planning, processverification, estimating, scheduling for validated pharmaceutical / biotechoperational excellence projects (Distributed Control System (DCS),Manufacturing Execution Systems(MES), or Process Analytical Technology, (PAT)related projects and solutions.
The candidate must be versatile, passionate, self-motivated and aself-starter and have excellent presentation, interpersonal and communicationskills as well as have demonstrated "consulting" experience and solutionselling skills. The Candidate should have good tenacity, follow-through, organizational,and prioritization skills. The individual should be capable of working with aminimum of supervision and providing project guidance to clients, engineers,technicians, and 3rd party contractors.
Key Areas of accountability:
Developing Life Science leadership in the company and with customers
Independent and team work on studies and projects
Strategic Account and Project Pursuit support
Develop Subject Matter Expertise in several of the following areas:DeltaV DCS, Syncade MES, PAT, IT / network infrastructure in manufacturingenvironments, IIoT, Analytics, the Digital Plant, sales and project pursuit,sales force and customer education
Become an industry vertical liaison from the Life Sciences ConsultingGroup to cross-business unit for product marketing and world area support
Define and execute studies which evaluate customer's plans, needs, andcurrent state and then define the potential solutions to meet their needs.Studies may include maturity model assessments, feasibility analysis, businesscase, conceptual design, options analysis, supplier evaluations, operationalexcellence, etc.
Work with clients to define and architect life sciences industrysolutions for projects spanning the ISA-95 hierarchy which may include digitalization,analytics, DCS, MES, and/or PAT solutions. Consultant should be able toidentify solutions and work with other consultants or engineers in areas wherethey have less expertise.
Define requirements for industry solutions through client interviews anddocumentation analysis
Experience with requirements for computer system validation
Provide project execution leadership and mentor fellow project members
Quickly learn new skills and technologies
Work effectively at different levels within project teams, clientorganizations and sales
The successful applicant will be able to work with clients to justify,define, and architect solutions within the following focus areas (expected to haveexpertise in at least one area and develop expertise in other areas).
DCS focus: Lead the overall strategy analysis and automation planningfor potential DCS projects including situations where the customer is not clearon requirements, migration type projects that require analysis, MES-readyimplementations, multi-site/global projects that require special attention toreusability, S-88 structuring, etc.
MES focus: Lead feasibility, ROI, Operational Excellence studies; leadthe team for defining project drivers, mapping business processes, definingrequirements, evaluate and recommend options during conceptual design, andassist with strategy analysis and planning.
Analytics and PAT focus: Lead the definition and implementation of Analyticsand Process Analytical Technology (PAT) solutions projects based on industryaccepted GMP procedures including detailed designs, implementation and testing.
Process focus: Work with customers to define how to best implementsolutions for their specific processes. Lead conceptual design projects forcases where customers require process expertise as part of the automationrequirements definition including S88 analysis with respect to processrequirements.
Quality focus: Provide quality/regulatory support for projects wherecustomers ask for advice (e.g. PAT), assist customers in defining regulatoryrisk assessments, develop risk assessment for changes (e.g. PAT projects,change management for smaller customers, etc.).
Additional Information
Expectedtravel is 50% - 75%. Relocation may be available for this position.
BS Engineering or Computer Science 8 years related experience; OR MSEngineering or Computer Science 7 years related experience; OR BS Biology 6years quality, batch record, or batch release experience with an additional 3years automation/automated solutions experience
5 or more years of Life Science Industry general plant manufacturing,quality, or engineering service experience
Project / Technical Leadership experience >5 years
Life Science Industry quality leadership experience >5 yearsincluding the application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) within amanufacturing operation.
Document Control and Management experience within Pharmaceutical /Biotech facilities
Experience with requirements analysis, design definition andimplementation of software solutions above the manufacturing floor (emphasis inbiotech/pharmaceutical sites preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Capable of handling multiple problems concurrently, prioritizingappropriately and keeping stakeholders informed
Knowledge of severalof the following with deep knowledge expected in at least one area: DistributedControl Systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Enterprise Resource Planningsystems, LIMS, Document Management Systems, Deviations Management Systems, Analyticspackages, Microsoft -Excel, Word, Power Point, and Project.
Ability to travel50%-75% (domestic and international)

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
