Registered Nurse (RN) QAPI Specialist

Job Description


In this role the QAPI Specialist assumes accountability to ensure quality assurance and performance improvement plans/goals are defined, implemented, and given high priority in the overall management of facility operations.  


  1.  Identify opportunities for improvement through analysis of data, observation of operations, and consults with leadership, staff, residents, and family members.

  2. Oversee and provide ongoing education regarding to the QA/PI program

  3. Must be knowledgeable in data collection, data analysis, and performance improvement practices to and lead QAPI.

  4. Organize and facilitate the quality committee & meetings by guiding discussion around performance measures, and prioritizing & developing quality efforts.

  5. Identify staff training needs to support QAPI

  6.  Reviews and analyses both the Resident and 5 Star Quality Measures and works closely with the DON to develop plans that address  those indicators   above the threshold .

  7.  Assists individual departments in developing and completing audit tools and data analysis

  8. Monitors the Kryterium Room to identify system deficits for further investigation

  9. Monitors patient outcomes through identifying areas that do not meet set thresholds on the Monthly Outcomes report

  10. Track trend analysis on monthly incidents

  11. Utilizes analytical, statistical and research skills and interpretive abilities to analyze data and make recommendations for improvements or changes.

  12. Utilizes change management skills necessary to lead initiatives that will result in significant changes to work flow processes throughout the nursing home.

Education & Experience:

Must have an active PA license as a Registered Nurse

Must be CPR certified

Must have two (2) or more years of QA/PI experience

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
